Cardano News Today – The long-awaited Cardano Byron reboot finally went live on the Cardano blockchain. This reboot brings the blockchain one step closer to 100% decentralization which is the goal of the Cardano Shelley mainnet. Byron comes with several updates that took the Cardano development team more than 18 months to prepare Byron for the live update. Yesterday, Charles Hoskinson said that Byron has been deployed successfully.
Following the deployment of Byron, IOHK created a blog post to help the community understand what to expect from the Byron update. With Byron, Daedalus wallet, Cardano explorer, and the wallet backend. They said that they had to write the new code for Byron from start to finish rather than build a code based on an already existing one. Byron will allow developers to work on individual parts of the Cardano blockchain without affecting the entire system. Everything that was updated with Byron deployment is expected to make the transition to Shelley smooth and efficient.

Byron will increase the transaction throughput of the Cardano blockchain so more transactions will be completed per second. The Cardano node will have a better memory usage and this will increase global participation of the network. Even when there are poor network conditions, users will be able to run their nodes. Now that Byron has been updated successfully, the next update to come will be the Haskell Shelley testnet. This would allow the Cardano developers to onboard stake pool operators from the Incentivized Testnet.
Meanwhile, EMURGO recently launched a Cardano blockchain-based traceability solution for enterprises. This new system will revolutionize supply chain tracking standards. Now that the traceability solution has been activated successfully, EMURGO has partnered with Blue Korintji Coffee to test run the system. The new integration will save money for the company, its stakeholders and its consumers. This blockchain solution ensures immutability and increases transparency.
The CEO of EMURGO, Ken Kodama had thus to say about the new solution;
“EMURGO Traceability Solution is a breakthrough enterprise application providing a real solution to tackle inefficiencies in today’s supply chain industries. EMURGO is delighted to partner with Blue Korintji Coffee and integrates this solution, bringing a tangible real-world application of blockchain technology to farmers, enterprises, and consumers, and shining light on the benefits the technology carries for everyone”.
